Weekly Photo Challenge: Beyond
I took these photographs in the graveyard at St Lawrence’s Church in West Wycombe, Buckinghamshire when I went over to the UK in 2008 to meet my biological parents.
My Bio Dad was an avid photographer and had a large portfolio of pics taken in graveyards. I was astounded when I found this out about him, because I’ve also always had a fascination with graveyards.
Unfortunately he passed away 365 days after we found each other, however his memory lives on … beyond the grave.

I’ve never been to a graveyard before but they seem like fascinating places. I’d love to just go walk around and see what’s engraved on all the tombstones

Ah, next time you come visit I’ll take you to the dead centre of town! Yeah. I’m the same – I enjoy reading the inscriptions and imagining about their lives.

Aww sweetpea, sorry you had so little time with him. But glad you got to meet him. My family and I call graveyards people gardens -:)

What a pity there was to be such a short time.
Graveyards are certainly fascinating, and UK is packed with interesting ones. Even in SA there are many churchyards where one can find infinitely varied snippets of history.

I love visiting graveyards too… especially really old ones. I walk and wonder why people died young, etc. Lovely pics Harmony. 🙂
